Green Sisters Menu for the Evening – Talented Entrepreneurs @Asian Business Awards!#ABCCAwards2016

The Asian Business Chambers of Commerce came together last night to celebrate and recognise the many exceptional business leaders in and around West Midlands region and we had the pleasure of their company and a great menu to accompany the celebrations for the evening!

I was comforted to see a menu which catered for allergens, extremely easy to identify and inclusive of varying dietary needs. A 3 course meal, full of flavour, to be enjoyed amongst friends around the same table. What an achievement! I couldn’t have hoped for more confidence at the table. Options available included #nutfree #glutenfree #vegetarian #eggfree #dairyfree

The host for the evening was none other than Suzanne Virdi. The evening commenced in true style, with the fantastic dancers ‘Bollywood Dreams’ who spoilt us with a range of dances to great cultural music. The spectacular dancing was followed with prayer and grace from the Bishop, encouraging us to remain grateful for what we have and celebrated the friendliness of the Birmingham people.

Speeches were delivered by the President of the Asian Chambers of Commerce, Saqib Bhatti, who went on to describe his inspirational influences – none other than his parents, who led him to the path of pushing boundaries to the successful end he now pursues, as President.

Sajid Javid, MP Secretary of State for communities and local government, was also in attendance. Sajid commented on Birmingham being the best place for a curry aside from his mother’s kitchen!  He also attributed the journey to business success he had followed to his father, who came to the UK with no more that a £1 in his pocket and the desire to give his family the best start for their futures. This spurred the future Javids to also push boundaries and to achieve posts in parliament and the police force.

The message amongst business owners was very clear, the successes in business had been largely influenced by their cultural values and parents, who strived to provide often with very little themselves, in the hope for a better future.

Massive congrats to all the winners and runners-up!! A truly wonderful evening…

Oh, and we must not to forget to mention the exceptional entertainment for the evening. Comedian,  Kev, had the audience chuckling away through his entire set, not usually an easy task! Thank you for the lively set you delivered!

Finally, an extra big thank you to our family and folks, who have also driven us at Green Sisters to pursue a better future for all those individuals with niche dietary needs, in pursuit for a better future for us all to enjoy together! Thanks ma n pa!  X
